About

My name is Austin Kuba! I was born in a small town called Hellertown, Pennsylvania. I am a PhD candidate in materials science and engineering, and I try to find ways to make better materials and processes in order to make solar energy the most inexpensive form of energy. I have a passion for the environment and that’s what my photography is about.

I got into photography after breaking my collarbone in a bad accident. To stay in as much shape as I could, I would walk for over two hours a day. Music and photography occupied my time on those long walks. The ability to use perspective to capture the feeling of a place and finding its best face quickly became a passion of mine.

My other hobbies are triathlon, hiking, camping, tending succulents, homebrewing, and sourdough bread making. Yes, I also brew my own kombucha.
